Plastic Surgery — Reconstruction and Aesthetics, One Team

Microsurgical reconstruction, hand and burn surgery, and aesthetic procedures — one department, inside a JCI-accredited hospital.

Send enquiry

Plastic surgery is one specialty with two faces. The surgeons who reconnect blood vessels under a microscope to save a crushed hand, or rebuild a breast after mastectomy, also perform rhinoplasty and facelifts — because the underlying skill is the same: precise tissue handling, a working knowledge of blood supply, and judgement about what a body actually needs.

At Florence Nightingale Hospitals, reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery sit within a single department, inside a JCI-accredited hospital with dedicated anaesthesiology, microsurgical facilities and intensive care. Whether you are here to restore function after an injury or illness, or to change how you look, the same standard applies: a plan built around your anatomy, explained plainly, with the backup a hospital — not a clinic — can provide.

Why Florence Nightingale for Plastic Surgery?

A hospital, a surgeon, a diagnosis. Then a transplant — if a transplant is actually the answer.

Plastic Surgery Procedures We Perform

Reconstructive Microsurgery & Free Flap Repair

Transferring tissue — skin, muscle, bone or a combination — complete with its own blood supply, and reconnecting the vessels under an operating microscope at the new site. Used after cancer removal, major trauma and complex wounds that local tissue cannot cover. Outcomes depend on meticulous vessel work, which is why this is handled by a dedicated microsurgical team.

Breast Reconstruction After Cancer

Implant-based and autologous flap reconstruction, immediate or delayed, planned together with the breast surgical and oncology teams from diagnosis onward. Nipple-areola reconstruction and symmetry surgery on the opposite breast are part of the overall plan, not an afterthought.

Hand & Upper-Limb Reconstruction

Tendon, nerve and vessel repair after cuts, crush injuries and complex fractures, aimed at restoring grip and function as much as appearance. Structured hand therapy starts within days, because the window for regaining movement is time-limited.

Burn Reconstruction & Scar Revision

Release of burn contractures, scar excision, and grafting or flap coverage to restore movement and improve appearance after burns, trauma or earlier surgery. Timing matters — some scars are treated early, others need a year to mature before revision.

Facial Trauma & Fracture Reconstruction

Repair of facial fractures and soft-tissue injury after accidents, restoring both function — chewing, breathing, vision — and facial symmetry. Often coordinated with our ENT and ophthalmology colleagues depending on which structures are involved.

Rhinoplasty (Nose Reshaping)

Reshaping the nose for appearance and, where relevant, for breathing — from subtle refinement to correcting a deviated or previously operated nose, with functional and cosmetic goals planned together.

Facelift & Neck Lift

Repositioning and tightening sagging facial and neck tissue at the deeper support layer, softening jowls and folds for a rested rather than an obviously operated look.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Removing or repositioning excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids — for some patients also clearing vision that had been narrowed by heavy upper lids.

Breast Aesthetic Surgery

Implant-based or fat-transfer augmentation, reduction for physical symptoms as well as appearance, and mastopexy for sagging — chosen around your chest anatomy and tissue thickness.

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Removing excess abdominal skin and fat and repairing separated abdominal muscles after pregnancy or major weight loss, often combined with liposuction for contour.

Liposuction & Body Contouring

Removing localised fat deposits that resist diet and exercise to refine contour — suited to patients close to a stable weight with reasonable skin elasticity.

Gynecomastia Surgery

Correcting enlarged male breast tissue through gland removal, liposuction, or both, depending on the balance of fat and gland — a short recovery with a discreet scar.

What Affects Our Decisions For Your Plan

Immediate vs. Delayed Breast Reconstruction

Whether it happens in the same operation as mastectomy or later depends on your cancer treatment plan, not scheduling convenience.

Free Flap Selection & Vessel Matching

Which donor site is used depends on the size of the defect and the vessels available to reconnect, decided case by case.

Hand Injury Triage

Which injuries need surgery within hours versus which can be planned electively — a call we make before you book travel, not after you arrive

Open vs. Closed Rhinoplasty

Closed for simpler reshaping, open for complex tip work or revision.

Implant vs. Fat Transfer for Breast Aesthetic Surgery

Predictable volume versus a smaller, natural-feeling change using your own tissue.

Common Questions

What’s the difference between reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery?

Reconstructive restores form and function after cancer, trauma or injury. Aesthetic changes appearance by choice. The underlying surgical skills are the same, which is why the same surgeons usually do both.

Will my breast reconstruction be coordinated with my cancer treatment?

Yes — planned jointly with the breast surgical and oncology teams from diagnosis, so timing fits your overall treatment.

Can reconstructive surgery be combined with cosmetic refinement?

Sometimes, and it can save you a second recovery — for example, symmetry surgery on the opposite breast during reconstruction. We combine procedures only where it is genuinely safe to do so, and stage them across more than one visit where it is not.

What does it cost?

After assessment, and itemised — surgeon and anaesthesia fees, hospital stay, any microsurgical or multidisciplinary input, follow-up and transfers are listed individually. Reconstructive cases vary more in cost than aesthetic ones, because complexity varies more, so we quote your case specifically rather than from a general price list.
